Obituary for Micheal Anthony Brussa
Micheal “Mike” Anthony Brussa, 60, passed away suddenly on February 12, 2017. He was born in Sanger, California to Jim and Joan Brussa and lived in Reno since 1960.
Mike is survived by his partner of 33 years, Donna Martin; sister Pam (Jim) Everett of Lincoln, CA: sister Kim Brussa (Sissy Steffen) of Grand Junction, CO; brother John (Katie) Brussa of Medina, WA; nephews John Brussa and Alex Hanlon and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Joan Brussa.
Mike was a successful general contractor and owned Mike Brussa Construction since 1980. He was a proud graduate of Earl Wooster High School and the University of Nevada, Reno, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and was involved in student government.
He lived his life full of adventure and fun. Mike was an avid snow skier, water skier, hiker and sailor and travelled extensively throughout the world. Every summer you could find Mike listening to non-stop Jimmy Buffett music, at his cabin at Fallen Leaf Lake, enjoying his boat and outdoor activities with family and friends. This truly was his “paradise”.
Everyone who knew him, knows that Mike lived his life “big” in every aspect---in height, fun, heart, humor, laughter, love for Donna and his deep passion for friendship. Sail away, dear friend, you will missed.
A celebration of life will be held on April 8, 2017 from 3:00PM to 7:00 PM at Napa Sonoma South, 7671 South Virginia Street, Reno.
We invite you to send a condolence in the family guestbook at www.waltonsfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s name can be made to the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club, 2680 E 9th St., Reno, NV 89512.
