Obituary for Xavier Vincent (Cip) Cipriano
Xavier Vincent (Cip) Cipriano, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, rejoined his wife Lilo on April 8, 2017. He was 92 years old.
Cip was born and educated in New Orleans. He served our country as a member of the US Army Infantry during WWII, as well as the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired in 1966 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. In the military he lived in and traveled to many places, but has resided in Reno for the past 40 years. Following his military career he worked for the Veteran’s Administration prior to retiring in Reno. He is survived by his extensive family in Reno, Los Angeles and New Orleans.
As an avid boater, Cip enjoyed many years on Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake as a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary where he made numerous lasting friendships.
Until his passing, Cyp was very active in his family’s daily activities. Cyp was exceptionally supportive of his children and grandchildren in order to help them succeed. He was quick with a joke and knew how to make us all laugh. He was a role model to us all by living each day honorably and to the fullest. He was much loved and is missed dearly.
His funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 20th, at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 1138 Wright Street, Reno.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN. Online donations may be made in Cip’s honor at the hospital’s website at www.stjude.org.
