Obituary for Patricia Ann Sliva Morse

Patricia Ann Sliva Morse
Patricia Ann Sliva Morse, 87, of Reno, Nevada passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 15, 2017.

Patricia was born to Joseph and Frances Sliva on January 1, 1930 in Tarnov, Nebraska. She was the oldest of eleven children and lived her childhood on the farm. As an adult she moved to Omaha and married Bob Morse. They later moved to Reno to raise their children and were residents of Reno for over 46 years.

Patricia was very active in the Catholic Church. She enjoyed countless hours at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church where she was a member and officer of the Altar Society for many years, managed the gift store, and contributed multiple hours volunteering for church events and bake sales. Her banana bread was a hit! Each St. Patrick’s Day there was green glitter flying around “Patty”! She also participated in bowling leagues around the Reno area until she was 82.

She was employed at Electronic Dispensers International (EDI) for 16 years. Patricia enjoyed a brief retirement with Bob and, upon his death, she re-entered the work force working at International Gaming Technology (IGT). She took pride in being the lead in numerous company events and retired at age 72.

Her energy and laughter were contagious. She found brightness in everything and everyone. Patricia will be sadly missed.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert L. Morse, siblings Germaine Wiese, Edna Widhalm, Adrian Sliva, Verna Labenz, Reynold Sliva, Bonnie Dusek and Carroll Sliva, and son-in-law James McGrail.

Survivors include her siblings: Ronald Sliva, Mary Krist and Lyle Sliva; children: Shari McGrail, Linda (Charles) Gill, Daniel (Jennifer) Morse and Sandi McKee; grandchildren: Jenna (Erik) Nelson, Ryan McGrail, Courtney Morse, Kenzi McKee and Luke Morse; great grandchildren: Drew Gaydosh, Brynn Nelson and Cole Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Respects will include Visitation on Monday, April 24, 2017, 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Walton’s: Ross, Burke & Knobel Chapel, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno. Services on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass and light reception at St. Therese Little Flower Church, corner of Kietzke and Plumb Lane. A private family burial will follow.
