Obituary for Tommy L. Shanyfelt
Tommy L. Shanyfelt, 70, of Genoa, Nevada, formerly of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and Bakersfield, California, died suddenly at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on September 16, 2017.
Tom was born on September 29, 1946, in Oak Harbor, Washington, the son of Thomas L Shanyfelt and the late Betty Shanyfelt. Tom graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio in 1968, after graduation he honorably served his country attaining the rank of Commander in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the California Department of Corrections as a Corrections Peace Officer until his retirement in 2005.
Tom was a caring and admirable man who enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and enjoyed engaging in conversations with new and old friends. Tom will be dearly missed, but not forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife Orawan, his children Stanton Saengpradap, Sarah (Saengpradap) Cielecki (Joe), Kym Saengpradap (David), preceded in death by his first wife Duangta Archariya mother of Daniel Shanyfelt (Cecelia) Daranee (Shanyfelt) Aviles (Christian), sister Holly Meyers (David), father Thomas Shanyfelt and wife Carolyn. He will be missed by his 10 grandchildren and many friends.
