Carlina Cristobal Stiverson
69 years ago, Carlina was born in Aurora Isabela, Philippines to Remigia Dorotan Cristobal and Pedro Cristobal Sr. She was one of 10 children with 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Carlina graduated from University of Santo Tomas and was later blessed with a beautiful daughter. As a single mother, she knew her family’s future would soon take her abroad. In 1980, with only a luggage in hand, she left the Philippines and migrated to the USA.
Carlina lived in California and Alaska but Reno, NV was where she called home. She lived out her passions owning Hair Jazz and Nails Salon, serving as Treasurer at the local Filipino Org, sung in the St Thomas Aquinas Choir, cared for kids in her Day Care and became a Foster Parent to provide compassion for kids in need. She sacrificed her time and money to help family and friends. Carlina married Jim Stiverson and lived as soul mates for 10 happy years. Carlina and her grandchildren would feed the ducks, go to the movies, play games at Circus and eat sushi together.
She will be remembered for her independence, selfless giving, compassion for others, wonderful haircuts, and of course her occasional advice.
Carlina peacefully joined her Lord Jesus on March 29, 2018, 7 days after her 69th birthday with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was surrounded by her family and friends just days before. She leaves behind her daughter Lorilei (Al) and 4 grandchildren Brandon, Melissa, Carter, & Natalie to join in Heaven her husband Jim, parents, and brothers Cornelio and Leonardo.
Our beloved Manang, Mom, and Grandma C will be forever missed.
